7 Tips I Learned from the 2014 Purdue Old Masters

After a long three incredible days, the 2014 Old Masters Program came to a conclusion. I had the honor this year of being a hostess for the program. After hearing everyone speak about how amazing this experience was I was very eager to start my three-day experience with my Old Master. All 10 Old Masters were Purdue graduates and have gone on throughout their life to have some amazing careers. The experience they spoke about could not be found in a textbook, power point slide or syllabus. The information they spoke to us about was real. All of them were college students once with hilarious stories and experiences of their own. However, that was the best part. They were real people with real life stories. After hearing an astronaut, a CEO, an advertising king, a professor, and presidents of successful companies, you learn some pretty amazing tips. Below are the seven tips I took away from the 2014 Old Masters.

11.     Ask, where do you see yourself in 20 years? Then work hard to achieve that goal
22.     If you do not have your life planned out that is quite all right, it will come to you.
33.     Use your networks often and not just when you need them
44.     Do not be scared to go out of your comfort zone
55.     Think about what you are doing today not tomorrow
66.     Find out what you love and what you are passionate about and do that
77.     Enjoy the journey

Yes, these might be the simplest tips however they are the core tips. Take these into the workforce after graduation and I bet you will not regret it.
