How to Manage your Schedule

October is a very busy month for many people. The new school year is in full swing by now and classes are really starting to pick up. The first round of exams and projects are usually in October and it's very easy to start to feel like you are getting behind. Time management can be difficult for anyone during anytime of the year but I find during October especially with everything in full swing it is even more challenging. Some things I do to better manage my time are the following:

  • At the start of the week I make a master To-Do list. This highlights the major things that need to be completed by Sunday.
  • I then make smaller lists of the tasks needed to be complete by the end of each day. This helps me not only organize my week but also make sure my days are organized so I am on track to complete my major goals.
  • Finally during each day I set aside time to complete my tasks in which I use a timer to keep me on track. I will do 3 sets of 25 minutes with 5-10 minute breaks in between.
These are ways to help me stay on top of things and stay organized during the busiest time of year. Making lists and seeing what you have to complete written out on one piece of paper gives you a more clear perspective on everything you need to do.
