Labor Day

Before this weekend began, I made a long list in my weekly planner of all the tasks I needed to accomplish. It was pretty extensive, and my goal was to chip away at a few task each day during the week and be extremely productive.

But, like most other college students I suppose, I haven't touched any of my homework until now. This is procrastination at its finest. And I guess it comes with good timing, since this weekend is Labor Day after all.

However, I think it is important to realize what Labor Day is all about. It is a day that honors all the hard work and effort we put into our careers and schooling throughout the year. Working for a living is no easy task, and this day of rest is supposed to serve as a reminder of all the economic achievements of American workers.

So while I am not endorsing procrastination, I am endorsing this honorary day of rest. Take a break and catch up on some much needed rest today. But as always, be prepared to hit the ground running again on Tuesday!
