5 Big Questions

5 Big Questions
Being interviewed can be a scary process. It can either land you a job, or on the continuation with the job search. But, the interview process can also be a great way to show a company how amazing you really are! To help with the interview, here are 5 big questions that companies will most likely ask you.

“Describe a time where you had to demonstrate leadership skills.”

Ah the leadership question. Every company wants to hire someone they can see becoming a great leader within the company. Each person is an investment to them. They do not want to waste their time on someone that cannot be seen leading a team. This question seeks out what leadership qualities you have and how that is going to help the company grow.

“How do you work with someone you do not like or do not get along with?”
This question is asked to see if you can handle the stress of working with a difficult co- worker or boss. You are not going to like everyone and not everyone is going to like you. They want to know how you would handle a difficult situation with a co-worker and how you would still be able to accomplish a goal.

“Where do you see yourself in 5 years?”
This is a hard question. No one really knows what they want to do in 5 years. It is really hard to determine that. My advice, be honest. If you see yourself living in a big city then let them know that. The question is asked to see if you have goals and motivation to keep going even after a few years with the company.

“Why do you think you are right for the job?”
Towards the end of the interview, this question will come up. This is where your confidence needs to come out and you need to let them know that you are more then qualified to do the job they are asking you to do. They want to see that you have passion for the company and what the company stands for. This is where your research on the company will come in handy. You can draw on the company’s mission statement and values to help you set yourself apart from the other candidates.

“Do you have any questions?”
NEVER SAY NO! Asking a question shows interest in the company. If you do not ask a question, it may seem like you are not that interested in what they have to offer. A few questions you could ask are “what is the company’s culture like?” or “What do you love most about working here?” They want to talk about themselves too, so let them!
