Resume Help

A resume: it's the one thing we all have to do, but only a handful of people know how to do it successfully. I know that I've personally struggled with my confusion on what to insert or not onto my resume. Then the formatting is a whole other story. So, where can we find help for this?

For starters, you can look online. There are many professional sites that can assist you in your resume writing process. These sites give you step-by-step help, tips, and examples. The one downfall of this option is that some of these websites charge you for their services.

Another great location to find help is on the Purdue OWL website. I am constantly using this website for writing assistance. When I finally realized that it had resume listed as an option, I was excited! There is no better place to get resume help than through your own university!

A third option is to visit the Career Center on campus. Purdue's Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) is an excellent place to connect with a professional face-to-face to receive feedback about your resume. This individual will assist you in building a strong foundation for your resume.

There are so many opportunities to take advantage of in order to better yourself professionally! Don't be afraid to take advantage of them!
